If you’re new to the Modern Warfare 2 online experience I highly recommend using the SCAR-H as soon as you unlock it. It’s range is also very high and it’s low recoil means that you can pick targets off from a considerable distance effectively. The SCAR’s main disadvantage is it’s small magazine’s of only 30 rounds and its fire rate means you tend to need to reload often. The SCAR’s damage and accuracy stats are high – it is one of the few weapons that can be used online in Modern Warfare 2 without the stopping power perk and still get good results. The SCAR-H is unlocked at level 8 and most players recognise it as the ‘best’ assault rifle available in Modern Warfare 2’s online mode. The FAMAS can be quiet difficult to get used to if your used to just spraying bullets around but it is definitely a weapon worth taking the time to master just for its damage stat. With the stopping power perk on you can kill a player in close or average distance with one burst if all three bullets impact. The main advantage of the FAMAS is its damage stat which is very high. Using the FAMAS effectively means that you have to have pretty good accuracy yourself as there is a slight pause between each shot and not being accurate means you can easily be killed during this pause. Weapons that fire in bursts are not suitable for everyone – especially players that just like to hold down the trigger so they can ‘spray and pray’. The FAMAS is unlocked at level 4 and it fires a three round burst. The M4A1 boasts high fire rate and mobility stats making it a very good all round weapon. Its average damage stat means that you’ll need to have the stopping power perk on all the time or you may find yourself getting very frustrated. It is very accurate but it’s strength leaves a little to be desired. It’s not bad for a default weapon either. The M4A1 is the default assault rifle that you begin with. They are the perfect choice for anyone just beginning to play Modern Warfare 2 online. Assault rifles also have moderate reload times and medium mobility. The reason they are so popular is because they are great for both long and short range kills and usually have good accuracy and very little recoil.
Infinity Ward does warn that all stats between the patch and when the fix goes live may be rolled back to the player's previous stats, if and when that happens.Assault Rifles are the most frequently used primary weapon by online players in Modern Warfare 2.
According to Infinity Ward, a fix is being actively worked on. For the time being, those stats continue to be erased. Everyone who clicked on "No" and waited can now login and play the game, their stats fully intact.Īs for players who clicked "Yes" and reset their stats in order to play yesterday, Infinity Ward doesn't have a solution yet.
This update was made in Modern Warfare's backend, from Infinity Ward's side of things, so players won't have to download an update to have the fix. Infinity Ward has gotten rid of this yes/no prompt and fixed the stat "corruption" that the game was interpreting. RELATED: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Testing Fix for Major Exploit But many players also clicked yes, erasing their stats across their combat record, leaderboards, custom classes, and Operators. Knowing Modern Warfare players clicked no and decided to wait 24 hours before trying again. As such, it prompted players to either click "Yes" and reset their stats or click "No," which prevented them from playing the game. Modern Warfare wasn't able to correctly read those stats into the game. The crux of the issue is that the most recent title update somehow led Modern Warfare to believe players' stats had been corrupted. Some players won't be getting their stats back, however. Infinity Ward has since made some progress on the bug, but it's not fixed in its entirety. This involved a fear-invoking prompt telling Modern Warfare players that they have to accept resetting their stats in order to play whatsoever. The most recent title update caused a major problem leading to players' in-game stats being reset.
Infinity Ward is currently working to address an ongoing issue in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
